The Iraq Project

YWAM Coatesville has an ongoing project in Kurdistan, Iraq. We are currently working to rebuild Passe Village; a village that has been destroyed three times in the last 15 years. We are also taking construction and medical teams into Iraq.

Deaf Boy’s Healing Confirmed in Iraq …A crowd was gathered around them and one young Yezede man who spoke rudimentary English was translating for Peter. I remember this young man getting excited and telling Pete, He says he can hear now! After that, a number of Yezede women came to Peter, patting themselves on the top of their heads, their way of saying, “Pray for us too!” Read the full story here!

Project Update: “We’re in the middle of building four new homes in Passe and one renovation, hopefully they will be finished in the next couple of weeks. We’re barely able to finish this project, it seems like funds are drying up. We’re committed to starting a new project in Koreme, the site of the Anfal massacre of most of the village’s men, its one of the stories in my movie, Land of the Kurds. This village is devastated, most have left it. It was particularly hard hit by the drought here which has been a seven year drought but its been particularly hard the last two years. This year all Koreme’s springs dried up. Their government deep well dries up after two hours use. They produce enough water for drinking for themselves and the flocks. Their orchards are dead, their crops stunted and dying, these are the poorest of the poor here. They also appear to be receptive to the Gospel. Pastor Layth was with Mohamed and I and we were talking of helping them in a typical Kurdish gathering in one of their small run down hovels. Several of the older men and women told us of their medical afflictions and were more than glad to have us lay hands on them and pray for their healing in Jesus Name. Their gratitude was genuine. We both felt this would be a worthy village in need of our help and open to our message. The four houses and one renovation are the phase two of Passe, when I finish that, I’m finished with this village project. They, as you know, are on the Habur River, they have water and they are prospering where others are not.” ~ Jack Harris
