Friday Night Soccer Outreach

What happens when forty diehard, soccer-loving, Spanish-speaking people get together on a Friday evening at our local sports gymnasium? FUN and lots of NOISE!: Every Friday night at 9pm, forty un-churched adults gather at the local sports gym and for the next hour, split into teams and play some mean soccer. At the end of the evening, the team sits in a circle while Leonardo, our YWAM staff, shares his testimony and the message of salvation. This soccer gathering has created a spiritual awakening in the lives of these folks who don’t know the Lord, says Leonardo. Since the Spanish ministry started this soccer outreach three months ago, it has developed into a regular Friday night Bible study with several people committing their lives to Jesus. It is an amazing thing to see the change and transformation in the lives of these adults, says Leonardo.
