YWAM Coatesville Update

Time is moving rapidly on and it’s hard to believe the autumn season is upon us.  We hope you all have had a great summer!  Here at YWAM Coatesville, we continue to walk with the Lord through all the joys and challenges life brings our way.  As always, we are so grateful for your friendship, prayers and financial support.

The purpose of this E-Update is:

·         To give you a monthly update on what is happening at YWAM Coatesville and around the world

·         To  tell you how you can pray for us.

·         To give you an opportunity to share your prayer requests.

Property Purchase

Praise God for the $70,000 raised so far thanks to the generosity of so many of you!  However, we still have $47,000 to go.  The board of House of His Creation has proposed the following to us:  We will give the $70,000 to them immediately upon which we will close.  The remaining $47,000 will be paid over a period of six months.  We are asking for that six month period to begin in November.  This will be in addition to the monthly mortgage payments of $2,800.   This is quite a challenge to our faith but the Lord is able and we ask you to believe with us.  What is impossible with man is possible with God.

Discipleship Training School

We are so excited over the beginning of our fall DTS.  It is small with only four students but God can do mighty things through only a few!  These four young ladies have set their hearts on seeking God and His purposes for their lives over the next five months as they grow in intimate relationship with Him.

TANYA is from New Holland, PA.  PHOENIX is from New York,  JYOTI is from Vermont and NADYA is from Russia.  Please pray for them as they adjust to all the challenges and new experiences inherent in community living and missionary training and outreach.  They will travel with school staff to the Middle East when the lecture phase is finished just before Christmas.

Monday Night Family Nights

One of the things YWAM Coatesville and its friends have always enjoyed is the Monday night family dinner and  Family Night that follows.  After enjoying a delicious meal together, we gather for a time of worship, prayer and sharing by a guest speaker.  These nights have now become especially blessed with the presence of our DTS students and any lecturer  who is able to stay is always invited to be the featured speaker for the night.

If any of you would care to join us for these evenings of praise and fellowship and spiritual nourishment, you are invited.  Just let us know a few days ahead of time by contacting us.

YWAM 50th Anniversary Celebration Banquet

We are hard at work getting out the news about our November 4th fundraising and Celebration banquet to be held at the Shady Maple Banquet facilities in East Earl, PA in conjunction with our wonderful friends at YWAM Haiti!

That evening, beginning at 6:00pm, hundreds of people will gather to rejoice over all that God has done through YWAM in the past half century.  These people will include past and present YWAMers, individual supporters of YWAM just like you, and pastors and members of congregations who have sent out and supported missionaries to various nations through various organizations including YWAM.

We are excited to invite you to join us for this wonderful event! Besides great food, fellowship and worship, the event will include a celebration of the diversity of the Body of Christ within YWAM through exciting cultural presentations.  Attendees will also have a chance to become better acquainted with the vision God has given the YWAM bases that will be present that night!

We still have many details to take care of in regards to that memorable night and each of you is invited!

RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED so please contact us.

PRAYER REQUESTS

-That the Lord works miracles of provision for the remaining $47,000 and the monthly $2800 mortgage for our 720 Buck Run Road  property.

-For God to move powerfully in the lives of our DTS students, staff and weekly speakers and for the outreach in the Middle East to come together administratively, financially and spiritually.

-Endurance for our staff as they are running a DTS, preparing for the November 4th Celebration Banquet,  seeking the Lord for capital campaign needs and so much more.

-For all of YWAM Coatesville to develop greater intimacy with the Savior.

-For the Celebration banquet to be a success in that it glorifies God alone and blesses many people, bringing the Kingdom of God in a broader measure on the earth!

Thanks again! Your prayers truly do have an incredible impact on all that God is doing in Coatesville and around the world.  For more information regarding any of the above prayer requests, please do not hesitate to contact us.  Please continue to inform us of ways we can be praying for you, our friends and supporters.

Property Purchase

A New Property

The end of June was approaching, as was the deadline for giving our “good faith” deposit of 10K to House of His Creation in the process of purchasing the property at 720 Buck Run Road.  We rallied together as staff in prayer, not to beg God to do what we wanted, but  to thank Him for all He had done, express our dependency on Him and remind ourselves of Who God is and what He has called us to do.  We didn’t need to convince Him to fulfill His promises; That’s just who He is and His character will not change.

And so we sought the Lord.  And with each phone call or email, cheers of praise went heavenward until the last $500 was given about ten minutes before meeting with the Executive Director of HOHC.  We saw God speak to the hearts of those who want to see this City transformed as well as those who believe in young people being discipled and sent to the nations as world changers.  Wow!  What a journey this has been.

Now on to our next challenge!  Settlement on the property is scheduled and we need to raise a minimum of $107,000.

Would you pray and see if God would have you be part of this journey?  God is creating much local interest in developing a mission training center right here in Chester County.  We believe this will have an impact on our city and local communities as we pursue God’s vision for this area and the world He has called us to reach.

Towards the Finished Line – After our goal of $107K is reached, we still need to raise the additional $458,00 for the rest of the price of the property.  We are believing in faith to receive the entire amount by September 30, 2010.

Repentance in Haiti

Feb 16

National 3 Days of Repentance (Fri/Sat/Sun):  We pray for a great enduring move of the Spirit of God… the fields are ripe and ready for harvest; we need intercessors to FIGHT FOR THE HAITIAN PEOPLE.  Without the Holy Spirit, ground taken will be stolen and commitments made will lack power to withstand the enemy’s constant attacks.  Yesterday was a monumental day as the witch doctor who has lived beside the YWAM base for years dug up his many fetishes and voodoo items, placed them in a bag and walked down to the St. Marc park where thousands met to repent of theirs and their countries sins and cry out to God for mercy and restoration.  He is one of thousands that have come to know Jesus Christ as Savior yesterday throughout Haiti.  Please pray with us that many others will do as he has done and will make a complete turn to follow God. ~ Audrey Martin

Praises of Healing!

Feb 16

Our children have been strong beyond their years and have demonstrated hearts of compassion to others and grace for their busy parents.  One story I need to share happened yesterday afternoon:

Roslia is a 22 year old girl who was injured in the earthquake by concrete falling on her back.  She was unable bend at the waist or walk due to the pain she had in her hips.  She has been with us for the last 3 weeks and although we have seen her improve in pain tolerance, she was still unable to bend, stand on her own or lift her legs to walk.  She was so weak that she would shake like Jell-O if lifted to her feet.  She had a dream that Katrina, Lizzy (Terry’s Daughter) and Caleb (Freeman’s son) prayed for her and she was healed.  She is a Christian and had faith that God sent this dream.  The kids surrounded her and Roslia told them where they were standing in her dream.  She said there was a white cloth that was cold and wet on her back.  As Katrina placed a wet wipe on her back and started rubbing it, Antontio, a man who has been recovering beside her, pleaded with me for Katrina not to touch her back.  He is well aware of the pain this young woman has been in for many weeks.  I reassured him that it was OK, and he started singing hymns to ease his concern.  After each child prayed individually for her they recited the Lord’s Prayer together and then thanked God for the healing He had done.  They said they did not feel anything had happened but they asked her if she was ready to get up and walk.  She said yes and they gently lifted her to her feet.  She stood there a minute as she put on her flip flops.  I noticed that she was not shaking.  They held her arms lightly and she proceeded to take step after step.  I was filming with my camera by this time and as Roslia lifted her hands to praise God the children left her go and she took a few steps on her own.  I will not lie…I was VERY concerned for her safety.  But as she turned around to look at us with tears in her eyes I knew that this healing was a complete one!!! After an extended group hug, with her young prayer warriors she walked all around the clinic praising God for the healing he had done in her body.  The shock on all the other patient’s faces was the same as they called out, “Ou Mache” (you can walk?).  She can now walk, jump, dance, bend over backwards and front.  She is healed and everyone here is excited…especially the children that prayed for her.  I have a video of the miracle and you can see the shock on Katrina’s face as she puts her hand to her mouth in amazement of God’s goodness. ~ Audrey Martin

New Housing???

Jan 29

As many of you know, we have been in need for permanent staff housing for quite some time.  We have recently come upon the opportunity to purchase a 9.4 acre property that would take care of all of our current housing needs.  It will also be an ideal location for hosting students, staff, and speakers for our training programs – Impact and the Discipleship Training School.  However, we need your prayers now more than ever as we consider whether to make this purchase, because if we do embark on this project, we will be completely dependent upon God for all of the finances.  We simply cannot undertake this project unless it is part of the dreams He has for us in His heart.  We are required to confirm or deny our decision to purchase by March 1.  Please pray that we would hear His voice clearly and distinctly as we seek His will in this matter. ~ YWAM Coatesville
