Meet the speakers of 2010!!!

Bruce and Joyce Heckman met while serving the Lord in the Middle East. Their nearly twenty years of service in that region equipped them to prepare others for ministry among the world’s Muslim peoples. They have given their lives to bring the message of salvation through Jesus Christ to those who have never heard. Bruce is a graduate of Fuller Seminary with a M.A. in missiology with a concentration in Islamic studies. He currently serves as an executive officer with Immerge and gives leadership to its curriculum development. Immerge is a cross-cultural apprenticeship system that prepares people for effective ministry among the world’s Muslims. They also have three children.

Mike Oman was born in the UK, but in 1951, when he was 4 years old, his family moved to Zimbabwe. He is married to Ros, and they have two children and five grandchildren. He was an accountant until he and his wife did their DTS in 1979.  Then in 1980, they began pioneering a YWAM base in Zimbabwe.  In 1984 they began pioneering a second YWAM location in Zimbabwe.  From there they released and gave oversight to small teams pioneering YWAM ministries in Mozambique, Zambia and Malawi. They served as Area Directors for YWAM in South Central Africa from 1984 to 1991, and Mike served on the Regional Leadership Team for Africa from 1986 to 1992. The Lord called them to Northern Ireland (where they still live) in 1991, where they established YWAM in 1995. They handed over the leadership of YWAM Northern Ireland in 2007, and they now have an eldership role in the wider YWAM community.  Specifically, Mike serves on the Core Team for Western Europe, chairs the Italy Coordination Team, and serves as an elder in YWAM Ireland.

Steve Shamblin joined YWAM in 1972.  He went with YWAM to the Munich and Montreal Olympics.  He was discipled by Rev. Ken Wright, who spoke for many years for YWAM all over the world, and also Dr. Bruce Thompson.  He was Bruce’s assistant in developing YWAM’s Biblical Counseling Training Schools. Steve was on staff in Kona for many years, with a teaching ministry at YWAM bases all over the world. He was a regular speaker at YWAM Denver, where he was one of their highest-rated teachers in history. Steve had a health problem about a decade ago and had to completely shut down his traveling. He has been the Senior Pastor of an Assemblies of God church in North Carolina for some time now and is finally healthy enough to move ahead with travel. The call and fire of God is still strong in his heart. He is eager to begin investing in YWAM schools again; Europe in particular is on his heart. Steve’s teaching has excellent content, and he has a calm, insightful teaching style.  He also moves powerfully in the gifts of the Spirit.

Corey Martin and his wife Carrie have been married for 5 years.  They have two beautiful little girls: Malia (2) and Noa (8 mo).  Corey is associate pastor and worship leader at Threshold Church, a church plant out from Ephrata Community Church.  They currently reside in downtown Lancaster.  Corey teaches on worship, intersession, and spiritual warfare.
