DTS Speakers

Steve Shamblin joined YWAM in 1972.  He went with YWAM to the Munich and Montreal Olympics.  He was discipled by Rev. Ken Wright, who spoke for many years for YWAM all over the world, and also Dr. Bruce Thompson.  He was Bruce’s assistant in developing YWAM’s Biblical Counseling Training Schools. Steve was on staff in Kona for many years, with a teaching ministry at YWAM bases all over the world. He was a regular speaker at YWAM Denver, where he was one of their highest-rated teachers in history. Steve had a health problem about a decade ago and had to completely shut down his traveling. He has been the Senior Pastor of an Assemblies of God church in North Carolina for some time now and is finally healthy enough to move ahead with travel. The call and fire of God is still strong in his heart. He is eager to begin investing in YWAM schools again; Europe in particular is on his heart. Steve’s teaching has excellent content, and he has a calm, insightful teaching style.  He also moves powerfully in the gifts of the Spirit.

Corey Martin and his wife Carrie have been married for 5 years.  They have two beautiful little girls: Malia (2) and Noa (8 mo).  Corey is associate pastor and worship leader at Threshold Church, a church plant out from Ephrata Community Church.  They currently reside in downtown Lancaster.  Corey teaches on worship, intersession, and spiritual warfare.

Jimmy Nimon is the Executive Director of Gateway House of Prayer, which is seeking the transformation of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and the surrounding regions through night and day worship and prayer. Through training in the Scriptures and prophetic insight, Jimmy is dedicated to equipping believers to experience God and do His will.  He is a member of HarvestNET’s network of churches and ministries.  Jimmy and his wife, Lydia, are the parents of five beautiful children and reside in Ephrata, Pennsylvania. He also enjoys graphic design and operates a web design business.

Jason Hershey lives in Washington DC with his wife Kimberlee and three children Cadence, Blaze, and Avella.  They have been in YWAM since 1999 and have been pioneering a House of Prayer, Intercession based ministry in Washington DC since 2005.  They are committed to revival, reformation and living a lifestyle prayer and mission, partnering with the Lord to see His promises released on the earth.

Lisa Whitaker joined YWAM in 1992 doing her DTS in Kona, Hawaii with outreach to Russia. Lisa’s ministry has primarily been focused on DTSs. During 1993 and 1994 she was involved in the pioneering of DTSs in Krasnodar, Russia.  In 1995 Lisa moved to Budapest, Hungary to work with Maureen Menard giving leadership to the first Collaborative DTS Project focused on the Balkans, Central Asia and Turkey. In 1997 she moved to Lausanne, Switzerland to join the staff of the International DTS Centre. Lisa has been involved in pioneering new DTSs, teaching in schools, doing staff training and being involved with church planting. She has traveled to 56 nations. Currently she is living back in New Jersey and caring for her Mom while still being fully involved in teaching, staff training, speaking locally and working on projects both Stateside and overseas.
